EU IPARD (TKDK) RURAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROJECTS
IPARD (INSTRUMENT FOR PRE-ACCESSION ASSISTANCE)
IPARD is the rural development component of the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) that European Union (EU) will apply between the years 2007-2013. In cities defined within the framework of IPARD Program, 50-60% grant will be provided to the enterprises and producers in milk, red meat, chicken, aquaculture, fruits & vegetables sector, and to the investors within the scope of supporting tourism and farming activities, local products and micro-enterprises, and culture fishing in rural areas. The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock is responsible from the IPARD program in Turkey. In order to execute this program, Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK) had been founded in Turkey.
The goals of this program initiated to ensure harmony with the agricultural and rural development policies of the European Union before accession are to contribute to the modernization of the agriculture sector, to ensure sustainability in primary product, to prevent migration, to offer new technologies and innovations to the food enterprises, to create new market opportunities, to encourage improvement of EU standards or other standards regarding food safety, veterinary medicine, plant health and environment, and to contribute to the generation of job opportunities in areas such as rural tourism and local products. |
